Sneaky Peaky

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Easter!

We hid eggs filled with candy and Ellie got a cute little frog which she gnaws on dearly.
Anywho! I had fun last night preparing my Mother's Day cards. They're all set but missing one thing... Can you figure out what's missing?

I'll give you a hint! They have big eyes and fly and I owlways think they are the cutest. teehee!
Tonight I'll be completing my cards and get them ready to be sent off! I'm excited about them. I really love the flower paper by American Crafts.

Have a great weekend!

50 Years of Magic

50 years of MAGIC Banner © readysetlove

My dad had his 50th birthday on Saturday and we threw an (almost) surprise party for him.
He figured it out a couple hours before. Boo.

Above is the banner I made for him to go with the theme of the party: 50 Years of Magic!
My dad is a magician (super fun, right?) and I knew I had to create something to represent his magic-ness and silliness. I thought a banner would be great! He could hang it up in his studio somewhere with bright lights so everyone can see it as soon as they walk in! Just kidding, but I know it'll fit perfectly somewhere in the arrangements of other blue and red items.
My dad always wears blue as "Wilde" and his magic duo partner always wears red as "Oz"... Oz & Wilde!

Oz asked me to make a card for my dad to give to him for his birthday, I thought it would be super fun to have it match the banner like a set!

Super fun, right? :) There's more photos over on my Facebook page.

Paper Lantern

One of my favorite tools is a crimper. You can see I've used it on Birthday Coffee Cup and I have big plans for a cupcake card that uses Stampin' Up!'s Simple Birthday Thanks stamp set.

Big plans.

Paper Lantern uses the crimper to make just that, a paper lantern embellishment.

It was pretty simple to make, too! Stamp your image and add a little water coloring if that's the look you'd like. A circle punch is perfect to create the lantern shape. Once you have your perfect lantern, send it through the crimper! To give it a vintage, rustic look, take a stamp pad and gently dab onto the crimped edges. Add some paper and string to complete the lantern look!

Send me links to your crimped crafts! I would love new ideas to use my handy-dandy tool!

Scraps = More Cards!

I made these two sweet and simple birthday cards form leftover S.E.I. kits! They're pretty simple but that's what I like most about them.

Paper, embellishments and ribbon are (mostly) from S.E.I. and the stamps are Stampin' Up!

I'm a big fan of the Leafy Celebration, the color scheme is super fun and vibrant. I wish I had more scraps to make another one!

How do you like to incorporate leftovers?

Cleaning House

Okay, okay, okay... So I know I said I was back to blogging but I'm not really writing any blogs.
But, I promise I am crafting... It's just I can't show you what I'm working on until after the 16th! But I'll get those crafts done this weekend, get photos taken and have them ready to show you as soon as the 17th gets here. ;) But it does contain BLUE and RED and GOLD -- no, it's not a Fourth of July Day craft. You'll see!

I've been thinking of hosting a giveaway... I don't have too many blog followers but I have a few fans over on Paper Love's Facebook page! I currently have three ideas:
  1. A pack of cards (any occasion),
  2. Something you can re-gift, or
  3. A customized card.
Head over to my poll if you'd like to give your opinion! Click here.

In the mean time, can you believe Easter is just a few weeks away? If you need a simple card, check out Rusty Flowers over my Etsy shop.

I've also be hard at work SPRING CLEANING. I am not a fan of spring cleaning... Neither are my allergies. But at least I'll know where all my craft supplies are again. :)

Birthday Coffee Cup

Everybody loves coffee, right? Well, everybody but me. ;)
I am not a coffee fan but, my boyfriend Jonny sure is! So when I made this card at a class, I knew it would be perfect to save for him.

Everything you see here is a Stampin' Up product or tool. You will need white and brown card-stock, twine, emboss folder (for the polka dots), designer paper (to give the cup a little more color), a crimping tool (for the brown card-stock), a sentiment to stamp and a punch to punch out the stamped sentiment.

$1.00 Finds are Fun

I'm writing this quite stuffed after over-indulging on a Slater's 50/50 burger... If you're in Southern California, it's a MUST try. There was an HOUR wait for a table (it was where my boyfriend wanted to celebrate his birthday) but luckily for me there was a Big Lots next door.

Every once in a while you can stumble upon some great items. Recently, there have been quite a few Basic Gray products but I was surprised to see American Crafts! You can see the fun finds I found below for only $1.00 each. YIPEE! I've got some cute ideas in store for these fun new embellishments.

Alright, time to go eat our dessert... A bacon brownie! That's right, you read the correctly. ;)
